Overview
The Indian School of Business (ISB) is a private business school established in India in 2001. It has two campuses: one in Hyderabad and another in Mohali. The school offers postgraduate, doctoral, and executive education programs in management.
History
The Indian School of Business was conceived in the year 1996 by a group of business leaders and academicians. They felt the need for a globally top-ranked, research-driven, independent management institution that would groom future leaders for India and the world. Their vision was to establish a world-class business school in India.
Programs
ISB offers several programs in the field of management. These include:
- Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP): This is a one-year, full-time residential program, which is designed for professionals with work experience. The program is designed to develop business leaders and entrepreneurs.
- Post Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (PGPMAX): This is a 15-month program designed for senior executives with at least 10 years of work experience. The program is delivered in a modular format, which allows executives to continue working while they pursue the program.
- Fellow Programme in Management (FPM): This is a doctoral-level program, which is designed to prepare individuals for careers in research and teaching.
- Executive Education Programmes: These are short-term programs designed for middle and senior management professionals. They are offered in a wide range of areas including leadership, strategy, marketing, finance, and operations.
Campus
ISB has two state-of-the-art campuses, one in Hyderabad and the other in Mohali. Both campuses provide a conducive environment for learning, interaction and growth. The campuses feature academic blocks, student villages, faculty housing, and recreational facilities.
Rankings
ISB is consistently ranked among the top business schools in the world. In 2020, it was ranked 28th in the world by the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings. The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) was ranked 5th in the world by the Financial Times in the category of one-year international MBA programs.
