London Business School
Overview
The London Business School (LBS) is a globally renowned business school and a constituent college of the federal University of London. Established in 1964, LBS offers postgraduate programmes in finance and management, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive MBA, Sloan Fellowship for Leadership and Strategy, and Masters in Finance. The school also offers a range of executive education programmes, including the Senior Executive Programme and the Essentials of Leadership Programme.
History
The London Business School was established in 1964 by an initiative of the British government, which felt there was a need for a business school that could compete with the best American schools. The school's first director was Dr. Arthur Earle, a former Dean of the Harvard Business School. The school was modelled on its American counterparts, with a strong emphasis on case method instruction—a teaching method that was pioneered by Harvard.

London Business School consistently ranks among the top business schools in the world. In 2021, the school's full-time MBA programme was ranked 1st in the world by the Financial Times, and its Executive MBA programme was ranked 2nd in the world by the Economist. The school's Masters in Finance programme was also ranked 1st in the world by the Financial Times in 2021.
