Adobe XD
Overview
Adobe XD is a vector-based user experience design tool developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is used for designing and prototyping user interfaces for web and mobile apps. The software is available for macOS and Windows, and it connects with companion apps on iOS and Android.
History
Adobe XD was first announced by Adobe in 2015 at its annual Adobe MAX conference. It was initially released as a public beta in March 2016 for macOS as "Project Comet". The first stable version was released on October 18, 2017. The Windows version became available in late 2017.
Features
Adobe XD supports website wireframing and creating click-through prototypes. The software also supports vector design and website wireframing, and creating simple interactive click-through prototypes.
Design
The design feature in Adobe XD allows users to create user interfaces for their software or websites. It offers tools such as Artboards, Symbols, and Repeat Grids to help users design efficiently and consistently.
Prototype
The prototype feature is used to create interactive prototypes for apps and websites. It allows users to link screens and add interactions to create a realistic simulation of their design.
The share feature allows users to share their prototypes with team members, stakeholders, or clients. Users can share a link to their design, embed it on a webpage, or download a .xd file.
Integration with other Adobe products
Adobe XD integrates with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. This allows users to import and use assets from these apps in their Adobe XD projects.
Reception
Since its release, Adobe XD has been well received by the design community. It has been praised for its user-friendly interface, performance, and integration with other Adobe products.
