Adobe Photoshop
Overview
Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Systems for MacOS and Windows OS. It was created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, the software has become the industry standard not only in raster graphics editing, but in digital art as a whole.
History
The development of Photoshop started in 1987 by the Knoll brothers, Thomas and John. The first version of the software was a simple program designed to display grayscale images on a monochrome display. This program, known as Display, caught the attention of Adobe Systems, which purchased the distribution license in 1988.
The first version of Photoshop (Photoshop 1.0) was released in 1990 exclusively for Macintosh. The software was a success, and subsequent versions added more features and capabilities, expanding its use beyond the scientific community to the general public.
