History

Waseda University, officially known as Waseda Daigaku, is a private research university located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1882 by Ōkuma Shigenobu, a former prime minister of Japan. Originally named Tōkyō Senmon Gakkō (Tokyo College), it was renamed Waseda University in 1902.
