The Snorks
Origins and History
The Snorks are a race of small, colorful beings that live happily in the underwater world of Snorkland. They have snorkels on their heads, which are used to propel them swiftly through the water. As far as the source material indicates, Snorks use their snorkels for high speed swimming as well as for making music, a central aspect of their culture. The Snorks were first introduced to the world in 1981 by Belgian comics artist Nic Broca for the comic book series SpirouSpirou.
Anatomy and Physiology
Snorks are humanoid in form, with most of their bodies looking similar to humans. The most notable difference is the protrusion on their heads, which gives them their name. This "snorkel" is actually a spout that sticks up from the top of their heads. The snorkel is used for swimming and making music, and it can be contracted or expanded as needed. The snorkel's functionality is not fully understood, but it is known to be a highly versatile and important part of Snork anatomy.
Culture and Society
The Snorks live in a structured underwater society, complete with its own language, currency, and government. The Snorks communicate by making sounds through their snorkels. Their language is complex and has been compared to the complexity of human languages. Snorkland's currency is the Snorkbuck, which is used for all types of economic transactions. The government of Snorkland is a democratic system, with a mayor who is elected by the Snorks.
