Overview
Paramount+ is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service owned and operated by ViacomCBS Streaming. It offers films and television series, including original series, content from CBS, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV, and the Smithsonian Channel. The service is a direct successor to CBS All Access and also includes content from ViacomCBS's international networks.
History
Paramount+ was announced on September 15, 2020, as a rebranding of CBS All Access. The name Paramount+ was chosen to associate the service with the premium content available from Paramount Pictures, and to align it with other ViacomCBS digital platforms, including Pluto TV, BET+, and Showtime. The service launched in the United States on March 4, 2021.
