Aenys I Targaryen
Early Life
Aenys I Targaryen was born in 7 AC to King Aegon the Conqueror and Queen Rhaenys. He was the first of the Targaryen kings to be born on Dragonstone, the ancestral seat of House Targaryen in the Seven Kingdoms. Aenys was a frail child, and his health was always a concern throughout his life.
Reign
Aenys ascended to the throne in 37 AC after the death of his father. His reign was marked by several rebellions, including the Faith Militant uprising and the Vulture King's rebellion. Aenys was not a warrior like his father and brother, and his inability to deal with these crises effectively led to a decline in his popularity and the stability of his reign.
Death and Legacy
Aenys died in 42 AC, just five years into his reign. His death was sudden and unexpected, leading to speculation of poison. His son, Jaehaerys I, succeeded him. Despite his short and troubled reign, Aenys's legacy lived on through his children and descendants, who continued to rule the Seven Kingdoms for nearly three centuries.
