History
The University of New Haven (UNH) is a private university located in West Haven, Connecticut. It was founded in 1920 as the New Haven YMCA Junior College, a division of Northeastern University. The institution initially offered two-year programs in business and engineering. In 1926, it became independent and was renamed New Haven College. The college expanded its academic offerings over the years, eventually achieving university status in 1970, when it was renamed the University of New Haven.
