University of Nebraska Medical Center
History
The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) was established in 1881 as the Omaha Medical College. It became part of the University of Nebraska system in 1902. Over the years, UNMC has grown into a comprehensive academic health sciences center, offering a range of programs in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, public health, and allied health professions.
Campus
UNMC is located in Omaha, Nebraska, and spans over 61 acres. The campus includes state-of-the-art facilities such as the Durham Research Center, the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, and the Lauritzen Outpatient Center. Academic Programs
UNMC offers a wide range of academic programs across its six colleges:
College of Medicine

College of Allied Health Professions
The College of Allied Health Professions offers programs in various health professions, including medical laboratory science, radiography, and physician assistant studies. The college emphasizes hands-on training and interprofessional education.
Research
