Sergey Lazarev
Early Life
Sergey Vyacheslavovich Lazarev was born on April 1, 1983, in Moscow, Russia. He showed an interest in music from a young age, attending a music school where he studied piano and voice.
Career
Early Career
Lazarev began his career as a member of the child group "Neposedy", where he met future t.A.T.u. member Julia Volkova. In 2000, he formed the pop duo "Smash!!" with Vlad Topalov. The duo was incredibly successful in Russia and Eastern Europe, releasing two albums before disbanding in 2004.
Solo Career
After the disbandment of "Smash!!", Lazarev launched his solo career. His debut album, "Don't Be Fake", was released in 2005 and was a commercial success. He has since released several successful albums, including "TV Show", "Electric Touch", and "The One".
Lazarev has also ventured into acting, starring in several Russian films and TV series. He has also performed in musicals, including "Romeo and Juliet" and "Lend Me a Tenor".
Eurovision Song Contest
Lazarev represented Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016 and 2019. His 2016 entry, "You Are The Only One", finished third in the final, while his 2019 entry, "Scream", finished in the same position. His performances were praised for their vocal ability and stage presence.
