Early Life
Nikkie de Jager was born on March 2, 1994, in Wageningen, Netherlands. She has a younger brother named Mikai, with whom she shares a close bond. From an early age, Nikkie showed a keen interest in makeup and beauty, often experimenting with different looks and styles on herself and her friends.
Career
Nikkie started her career in the beauty industry at a young age. In 2008, she created her YouTube channel, 'NikkieTutorials', where she began posting makeup tutorials and beauty tips. Her channel quickly gained popularity, and she soon became one of the most influential beauty vloggers on the platform.
In 2011, Nikkie joined the production team of the Dutch television series, 'The Face', as their head makeup artist. This experience allowed her to further hone her skills and gain professional experience in the industry.
In 2013, Nikkie became the Global Beauty Advisor for L'Oréal Paris, a role that involved creating content for the brand's YouTube channel and representing the brand at various events. During her time at L'Oréal, Nikkie collaborated with several high-profile celebrities, including Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.
In 2015, Nikkie's YouTube video, 'The Power of Makeup', went viral, garnering over 40 million views. The video, which shows Nikkie applying makeup to only half of her face to demonstrate the transformative power of makeup, sparked a global conversation about beauty standards and the stigma associated with wearing makeup.
