Geography
Mount Bjelašnica is located in the southwestern region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically in the Dinaric AlpsDinaric Alps. The mountain is primarily within the municipality of Trnovo, with its northernmost points reaching into the territory of the city of Sarajevo. The highest peak, named Umoljani, reaches an elevation of 2,067 meters above sea level.

The lower slopes of Mount Bjelašnica are covered by dense forests of beech, fir, and spruce. During the Bosnian War, the mountain was a strategic point and saw heavy fighting.

Mount Bjelašnica is a popular destination for outdoor activities. In the winter, the mountain's ski resort, which was one of the venues for the 1984 Winter Olympics, attracts skiers and snowboarders from around the world. In the summer, the mountain's hiking trails, which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, are frequented by hikers and nature lovers.
