Moodle
Overview
Moodle is a free and open-source learning management system (LMS) designed to provide educators, administrators, and learners with a single robust, secure, and integrated system to create personalized learning environments. It is written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License.
History
Moodle was originally developed by Martin Dougiamas who wanted to help educators create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content. The first version of Moodle was released on 20 August 2002. Since then, it has undergone numerous updates and revisions to improve its functionality and usability.
Features
Moodle offers a variety of tools and features to facilitate online learning and teaching. These include:
