Kawhi Leonard
Early Life
Kawhi Anthony Leonard was born on June 29, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Mark Leonard and Kim Robertson. He has four sisters and was raised by his mother. Leonard attended Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley before transferring to Martin Luther King High School in Riverside.
High School Career
At King High School, Leonard was a two-time All-Riverside County player of the year and an All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) selection. He ended his senior year with an average of 22.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3 blocks per game. Leonard led his team to a 30-3 record and won the CIF SS Division 1AA Player of the Year award.
College Career
Leonard played two seasons of college basketball for the San Diego State Aztecs. He averaged 12.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game in his freshman year. In his sophomore year, he averaged 15.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Leonard decided to forgo his final two seasons at San Diego State to enter the 2011 NBA Draft.


Professional Career
San Antonio Spurs (2011–2018)
Leonard was selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers but was traded to the San Antonio Spurs on draft night. He spent seven seasons with the Spurs, where he developed into one of the top players in the NBA.
Toronto Raptors (2018–2019)
In July 2018, Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors. In his single season with the Raptors, Leonard led the team to their first NBA Championship in franchise history. He was named the Finals MVP for his performance.
Los Angeles Clippers (2019–present)
In July 2019, Leonard signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. He continues to be a dominant force in the league, solidifying his status as one of the top players in the NBA.
Playing Style
Leonard is known for his all-around skills on both ends of the court. He is a prolific scorer, an excellent rebounder, and one of the best defensive players in the NBA. His large hands, which earned him the nickname "The Klaw", allow him to easily steal the ball from opponents.
Personal Life
Leonard is notoriously private about his personal life. He has two children with his long-time partner, Kishele Shipley.

Throughout his career, Leonard has received numerous awards and honors. He is a multiple-time NBA All-Star, a two-time NBA Finals MVP, and a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
