Early Life

Jamala was born as Susana Jamaladinova on 27 August 1983 in Osh, a city in the Fergana Valley of Kyrgyzstan. Her father, Alim Jamaladinov, is a Crimean Tatar, and her mother, Galina Tumasova, is of Armenian descent. Jamala's family moved to the Crimean Peninsula when she was still a child, and it was there that she began to show an interest in music.

Musical Education

Jamala attended the Simferopol Music College where she studied opera singing. Career
