J-Hope
Early Life
J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Hoseok, was born on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea. He has an older sister named Me Jiwoo. From a young age, J-Hope showed a keen interest in dance and music, which led him to attend the Gwangju Music Academy. He was part of a local dance team called "Neuron" and won several local dance competitions.
Career
Pre-debut
Before his debut with BTS, J-Hope was a well-known underground dancer in Gwangju. He also auditioned for JYP Entertainment, one of the big three entertainment companies in South Korea, but was not selected. Later, he was scouted by Big Hit Entertainment and became a trainee.
BTS
J-Hope debuted as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS on June 13, 2013. He is the main dancer and rapper of the group. He has contributed to the creation of many BTS songs, including "I'm Fine," "Magic Shop," and "MAMA."
Solo Activities
J-Hope released his first solo mixtape, "Hope World," on March 1, 2018. The mixtape charted on the Billboard 200, making J-Hope the highest-charting solo Korean artist at the time. He has also released singles like "Chicken Noodle Soup" featuring Becky G and "Blue Side."
