Georgetown University

History

Georgetown University, located in Washington, D.C., is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. It was founded in 1789 by John Carroll, the first Catholic bishop of the United States. The university was initially established as a Jesuit institution, and it continues to be guided by Jesuit principles today.
