Early Life
Björk Guðmundsdóttir was born on 21 November 1965 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Her mother, Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir, was an activist and her father, Guðmundur Gunnarsson, was a union leader and electrician. They divorced when Björk was born, and she moved with her mother to a commune.
Björk's musical education began at a young age. At six, she enrolled at Reykjavík school Barnamúsíkskóli, where she studied classical piano and flute. However, she found the traditional teaching methods stifling and began to explore her own musical path.
Career
Early Career
