Wild Thyme
Taxonomy and Description
Wild Thyme, scientifically known as Thymus serpyllum, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family. It is native to most of Europe and North Africa but has been widely naturalized in North America. This species is a low-growing, creeping subshrub, often forming dense mats over rocks or bare ground. Its leaves are small, oval, and aromatic, while the flowers are pink to purple and highly attractive to bees.


Habitat and Distribution
