History
Denison University, a private liberal arts college located in Granville, Ohio, has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1831. Originally established as the Granville Literary and Theological Institution, it was the second Baptist college west of the Allegheny Mountains. The institution was renamed Denison University in 1854 in honor of benefactor William S. Denison.
